Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.
In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Role Purpose
We are looking for an exceptional Design Engineer to own how Neko looks and feels in code, across every surface a member touches: app, web, wearables, clinic and scan room. You take design from Figma to production, hold the bar for interaction, motion and animation, and build the design system that lets a small team ship fast and consistently, whether the code is written by a person or an agent.
This is a role for someone who moves quickly, has strong product taste, and cares about getting the details right, because those details are what make a product feel great. Neko has to feel like the future of healthcare.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
- Ship member-facing experiences end to end across app, web, wearables and clinic screens, with prototypes in code within a day (Member-first, always).
- One cross-platform design system, built with Design and Motion: co-define component contracts, own them in code, and carry our motion language into the product (Chase 10X, not 10%).
- Drive adoption: move existing products onto the system, replace duplicated components, and make it the easiest choice for every engineer and their AI tools (Impact, not activity).
- A design system agents can use as well as people: typed, documented and opinionated enough that generated UI looks like Neko by default (Tech-enabled, human-centered).
- Keep evaluating new models and design tooling and rebuilding our workflow when something better comes along (Optimistic truth seeking).
Minimum Qualifications
- Deep front-end experience with TypeScript, React and React Native, and a portfolio of shipped work you are proud of. Taste is the first thing we look at.
- A sharp eye for design, interaction and detail: spacing, motion, typography, accessibility and performance.
- You have built or owned a design system other engineers adopted and raised the craft bar for a team.
- A product mindset and the ability to move quickly from idea to production, across the stack when needed.
- Fluent in Figma, including variables and design token pipelines with multi-platform output. You use AI coding tools every day, and you still check every pixel yourself.
