The Department: Advanced Industries Design Engineering

The Advanced Workflow team is responsible for the growth and development of the Enterprise and Automotive Industries. These key growth markets typically require bespoke products developed to detailed and unique specifications often needing to comply with market specific regulations. Many of the customers within this are complex, challenging and global in nature.

The Role

We’re looking for a creative and driven individual to join us at Southco. In this exciting role, you’ll be at the forefront of conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative new products that meet the needs of both Southco and our customers.

  • You’ll take ownership of the technical aspects of your assigned projects, collaborating closely with our Sales team to turn customer challenges into smart, practical solutions.
  • Working together with our New Product Development (NPD) teams, you’ll ensure each product meets cost targets and is launched successfully, hitting all agreed performance criteria.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your ideas to life, make a real impact on the customer experience, and play a key role in shaping the future of our product range.

Requirements

  • Holds an Engineering Degree or Higher National Qualification (with at least 3 years of professional experience)
  • Has a proven track record in designing intricate mechanisms
  • Experienced with 3D/2D CAD systems (preferably NX)
  • Is a tenacious and creative problem-solver who thrives on challenges
  • Adheres to and inputs into product development specifications
  • Can inspire and influence others to achieve outstanding results
  • Experience within these specific Industries
