Design Engineer | Product Development
Are you a Design Engineer with strong 2D/3D CAD experience looking to join a growing Product Development team?
We’re working with a UK-leading manufacturer recognised for its innovation, design and product quality, as they continue to expand their engineering team in Hull. This is a great opportunity to work on high-profile product development projects, taking designs from concept through to manufacture while helping improve product performance, cost, weight and efficiency.
You’ll play a key role within the Product Development team, producing detailed CAD designs and manufacturing information while working closely with engineering, production and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Create, update and maintain 2D/3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
- Develop CAD-led solutions to improve product performance, weight, cost and complexity
- Support new product development from concept through to manufacture
- Work closely with engineering and production to deliver projects to agreed timescales
- Ensure components and assemblies meet relevant regulatory and approval requirements
- Support engineering change and BOM management
- Carry out change impact assessments and contribute to design reviews
- Help develop and improve internal CAD systems, processes and workflows

We’re interested in Design Engineers with experience working within a design or engineering office environment, ideally with exposure to manufactured products.
- Strong 2D/3D CAD experience
- Good understanding of materials, assemblies and manufacturing processes
- Experience with BOMs and engineering change systems
- Exposure to processes such as injection moulding, extrusion, structural or modular manufacturing would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- An interest in new materials, product development and sustainable design
