Eligibility

  • Local applicants only.
  • This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical/Design Engineer, based in the Northwest.

Role Description

Project Engineering

  • Manage Electrical Engineering projects from design (based upon information provided) through to delivery.
  • Prepare project plans, schedules, progress reports, and technical deliverables.
  • Support commissioning, testing, fault finding, and system integration activities.

Electrical Design & Technical Documentation

  • Produce and review electrical system designs for marine and defence applications.
  • Generate design documentation in accordance with MOD requirements and company procedures.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Single line diagrams
    • Cable schedules
    • Equipment specifications
    • Interface documentation
    • Test procedures
    • Technical reports
  • Support design reviews and engineering change processes.

Defence & MOD Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation to MOD standards.
  • Support the development of defence-related technical publications and engineering reports.
  • Contribute to configuration management activities and design assurance processes.
  • Ensure documentation complies with applicable defence writing and documentation standards.

Site & Customer Support

  • Attend Vessels, Shipyards, Naval establishments, and customer facilities as required.
  • Support installation, commissioning, acceptance trials, and customer demonstrations.
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support during project execution.

  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of HNC/HND qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; will consider Candidates with similar qualifications, in the same field, if they can provide evidence of their experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working on Royal Navy or MOD programmes.
  • Knowledge of marine electrical installation and commissioning activities.
  • Experience with configuration management and design assurance processes.
  • Understanding of systems engineering methodologies.
  • Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution or working towards professional registration (EngTech/IEng).
