Design & Implementation Lead - Director

Contract | £875 per day
Location: UK

We’re partnering with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Design & Implementation Lead at Director level on a contract basis.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced change and operating model professional to lead the implementation of a complex transformation programme, translating agreed capabilities into practical journeys, standards, hand-offs, and escalation routes.

You’ll take ownership of implementation and change readiness, working across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure new ways of working can be successfully adopted and embedded within frontline environments.

The Opportunity

As Design & Implementation Lead, you’ll provide strategic leadership across the design, implementation, and adoption of a significant operating model transformation. You’ll translate strategic objectives and agreed capabilities into clear, implementable ways of working, ensuring processes, responsibilities, and escalation routes are well defined and ready for operational adoption. This is a highly influential role requiring someone who can operate confidently at senior level while maintaining a strong understanding of the practical realities of implementing sustainable change across complex, multi-agency environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and implementation of new operating model capabilities.
  • Translating agreed capabilities into clear and implementable end-to-end journeys.
  • Defining standards, hand-offs, responsibilities, and escalation routes.
  • Leading change management and readiness planning to support successful frontline adoption.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across multiple organisations and agencies.
  • Ensuring new processes and ways of working are practical, sustainable, and effectively embedded.
  • Identifying implementation risks, dependencies, and barriers to adoption.
  • Developing appropriate interventions to address operational and organisational challenges.
  • Providing strategic direction while maintaining oversight of practical delivery.
  • Facilitating alignment across complex stakeholder groups and competing priorities.
  • Championing sustainable change and continuous improvement throughout implementation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
