The Role
You'll own end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise-grade applications and platforms, defining blueprints, design standards and technology roadmaps, and leading architecture reviews that set the standard for engineering teams. You'll produce high-level and low-level designs that address functional and non-functional needs, and drive decisions on scalability, resilience, security, observability and performance.
Day to day you'll work across product, business stakeholders, UX and engineering leaders, and partner with DevOps and cloud teams to shape deployment and operating models. You'll design cloud-native solutions on AWS, architect microservices, event-driven systems and API-led integrations, and define cloud security, networking and disaster-recovery approaches. A significant part of the mandate is responsible use of AI: integrating services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock and Hugging Face, and championing AI-assisted engineering and intelligent automation. You'll also mentor development teams and present architecture strategies to executive audiences.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
