Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding, award-winning construction contractor to recruit an experienced Design Manager to join their growing technical team.
Our client has earned an exceptional reputation for delivering high-quality industrial, logistics, commercial and mixed-use developments across London and the Home Counties. With an impressive pipeline of secured projects and a collaborative approach to project delivery, they continue to invest heavily in both their people and their technical capability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to take ownership of the design process on major construction projects while joining a business that genuinely values innovation, teamwork and technical excellence.
The Role
As Design Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring design information is delivered on programme, fully coordinated and aligned with the project's commercial and operational objectives.

- Leading the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
- Ensuring design information is delivered on programme
- Fully coordinating and aligning design with commercial and operational objectives
- Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and operational teams
- Managing design programmes
- Chairing technical workshops
- Coordinating information releases
- Providing technical leadership throughout the construction lifecycle
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are buildable, compliant and commercially successful, while identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement.
About You
You'll have a strong background within architecture, engineering or construction design management and be confident leading multidisciplinary consultant teams on complex design & build projects.

Experience managing planning conditions, Building Regulations, BREEAM requirements and technical design reviews would be highly advantageous, together with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
