About the role

We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Information, Design Manager to join our Sellafield IDP project.

You will manage design and engineering activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed scope and programme with the following key objectives:

  • Completion of design on time and within budget including successful completion of design reviews, stage gates, construction reviews and hazard/risk reduction procedures.
  • Provide technical support on the project.
  • Ensure health, safety, welfare, environment, quality are considered as a core function of design at all stages, decisions and outcomes clearly communicated to construction and operation teams.

You will manage the TQ/RFI/NCR process, ensuring resolution and communication of all design queries at pace and prepare and manage the design deliverables schedule - delivery on time and in budget. The role will require you to manage provision of models and drawings to project team in accordance with document control procedures and manage design change procedures ensuring adherence to the Contract and ensuring avoidance of unintended consequences.

Please note that this role will be office based 5 days per week.

About you

It is essential that you hold an engineering degree in the relevant engineering discipline. Professional Qualification is desirable and might be essential on some contracts.

  • Key Role Holder Design Fundamentals D0586E
  • Nuclear site licence conditions

You must have both construction and design experience and have the ability to deputise for the Engineering Manager if required. Working knowledge of construction methods and outputs suitable for the works being designed is also essential for this role.
