Design Manager Temporary Contract (36 Months)
£350£400 per day
Corby / Northampton | Hybrid Working
A respected regional main contractor with a turnover of approximately £100m is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the business on a temporary basis for an initial 36 month contract.
The company delivers a strong pipeline of care home, residential and multi-room construction projects across the Midlands and wider UK. With a secure forward workload, established processes and a collaborative culture, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded contractor and make an immediate impact.
The Role
Working within an established design team comprising three Design Managers and a Document Controller, you will report directly to the Head of Design and take responsibility for managing design information across multiple live projects.
The position offers hybrid working from day one, combining office, site and home-based working.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the design process across 23 live construction projects
- Coordinating design information, drawings and specifications
- Liaising with consultants, architects, subcontractors and project teams
- Maintaining design trackers and ensuring information is issued in line with programme requirements
- Supporting technical design reviews and buildability assessments
- Identifying and resolving design-related issues throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensuring information is distributed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Supporting project delivery teams to achieve programme and quality objectives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry
- Strong design coordination and document management skills
- Experience working with drawings, specifications and technical information
- A good understanding of construction processes and project delivery
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common construction design management systems
