Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding regional construction contractor to recruit an experienced MEP Design Manager to join their growing technical team based in Bristol.

Our client has built an exceptional reputation for delivering some of the South West's most complex and high-profile construction projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, defence, industrial, and mission-critical environments. With an impressive pipeline of major secured work, they continue to invest in both their people and their technical capability.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased MEP professional looking to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of large-scale projects from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As MEP Design Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the coordination and delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and public health design elements across multiple major construction projects.

  • Working closely with clients, consultants, specialist subcontractors, and operational teams
  • Ensuring MEP designs are technically robust, fully coordinated, commercially viable, and aligned with programme requirements

You'll be involved from the earliest design stages, helping to influence buildability, manage technical risk, and ensure seamless integration between design and construction. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on landmark projects where MEP design plays a critical role in successful project delivery.

About You

You'll have a strong background in building services design or technical management, with experience working for a main contractor, specialist MEP contractor, or consultancy on major construction projects.

  • Confident managing multidisciplinary design teams
  • Coordinating technical information and resolving complex design challenges while maintaining programme and commercial objectives

Whether your background is predominantly electrical or mechanical, you'll possess excellent communication skills, strong commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach to project delivery.
