Design Manager - Main Contractor, Manchester

A career opportunity for a Design Manager to lead and support on a key regeneration and residential scheme in Manchester on behalf of an exciting and growing Regional Contractor in the North West of England, and predominantly established in Manchester. The project pipeline is secure and well-funded up to 2030 and beyond providing a strong career pathway for career progression.

Role Description

The Design Manager will be supporting the project team on the delivery of a residential scheme currently on site responsible for managing the design team and client; and overseeing design and construction with the professional team and sub contractors, resolving all design and technical issues through the build programme. Additionally, the Design Manager will oversee the early stage design development and programme of future phases of the project.

Requirements

We are looking for a Design Management professional that has strong technical knowledge of the full construction process of residential development schemes that include housing or new build apartment blocks.

You will have experience of working as a Design Manager within a Main Contractor environment or practice in a technical architect role, with significant design management experience with a professional Engineering or architectural qualification. Detailed knowledge and experience of delivery of residential projects is very desirable.
