Design Manager

Permanent | Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours) - Hybrid working approach – office, site-based and WFH.

Location: Rainham, Essex – RM13 HRH | London & South East Projects

We are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join an established construction and building solutions business, supporting the continued development of its specialist work across various sectors.

This is a varied role combining pre-construction, tender and live project delivery, working across projects typically valued between £2m and £10m. Projects can include refurbishment, new build, roofing, civils, MEP and wider building works.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design process across multiple projects, with a strong focus on both tender/pre-construction and project delivery. The successful candidate will act as the key interface between the design and operational teams, managing and coordinating the design process from concept through to delivery. You will work closely with architects, consultants, specialist subcontractors, clients and internal project teams to ensure designs are coordinated, commercially viable, buildable and delivered in line with programme.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
