Role Description
The Design Manager will oversee façade and cladding design activities from concept through to construction, ensuring designs are technically robust, compliant, and aligned with client specifications. This full-time hybrid role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a mix of office, site, and home-based work.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Coordinating design information
- Managing internal and external design resources
- Reviewing drawings and technical documents for accuracy and buildability
- Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Leading design meetings
- Tracking design progress
- Managing design-related risks and changes
- Supporting tender submissions
- Contributing to value engineering
- Ensuring that designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and fire safety requirements
Qualifications
- Strong façade and cladding design experience, ideally within specialist contracting or building envelope design.
- Proficiency in reading and reviewing technical drawings and specifications; familiarity with CAD or BIM tools is highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations, fire safety requirements, and cladding-related standards.
- Proven experience managing design processes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing design approvals.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, and site teams.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, including managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Experience in the London or wider UK construction market and familiarity with main contractor practices are advantageous.
