Design Manager – Major Residential Development
A leading contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join a major residential development.
The scheme is a large-scale residential development with multiple blocks and associated commercial space, providing an interesting mix of technical and design challenges.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the design management function, working closely with the project team, consultants, client representatives, and specialist subcontractors.
The role will include:
- Managing design information from Stage 4 onwards
- Reviewing existing design information and identifying gaps or outstanding requirements
- Coordinating consultants, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers
- Reviewing construction against design and identifying potential issues
- Working through technical and buildability challenges
- Supporting investigations and remedial design where required
- Coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP information
- Reviewing façade and fire-related design requirements
- Working alongside Building Control and warranty providers
- Managing design risks and technical queries
- Supporting the project team through the construction phase and towards completion

- Technical design coordination
- Stage 4+ projects
- Design & build environments
