Design Manager – Super Prime / Luxury Fit Out
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Package
Location: London
Nadson Consulting are working with one of the UK’s leading contractors in the delivery of high end / luxury fit out construction, who are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their London operation.
This contractor delivers some of the UK’s most prestigious and technically demanding projects, combining specialist in-house capability with exceptional standards of design, craftsmanship and delivery.
Their London portfolio includes:
- Luxury hotels
- Super-prime residential developments
- High-end residential new build schemes
- Major refurbishment projects
- Heritage and listed buildings
This is a site based Design Manager position with significant responsibility and autonomy. You will typically operate as the sole Design Manager on the project, taking ownership of the internal design from coordination through to construction and final delivery. (Support from the Head of Design)

You will manage the design across all internal trades and specialist packages (excluding MEP), coordinating architectural information, subcontractor design, technical interfaces, approvals and programme requirements.
Given the calibre and complexity of the projects, you will work closely with clients, architects, consultants, specialist subcontractors and the site delivery team, identifying and resolving design issues early and ensuring the project can be delivered to the required quality, programme and specification.
We are open to two types of background:
- Experienced Design Managers from a main contractor, specialist interiors contractor or high end residential / luxury environment
- Strong Architects looking to move into Design Management who have substantial on site project delivery experience
For Architects, we are particularly interested in individuals who have experience through RIBA Stages 4–5, technical detailing, coordination, specialist subcontractor interfaces and resolving design issues during construction.

Ideally, you will have experience across prime / high end residential, luxury hotels, high end refurbishment or similarly complex, design led projects.
You will need to be:
- Technically strong with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable taking ownership of the design process
- Experienced across internal trades and specialist packages
- Confident dealing with demanding clients and consultants
- Commercially and programme aware
- Able to resolve technical and buildability issues proactively
- Comfortable spending a significant amount of time on site and working closely with the construction team
