About the Company
We are recruiting a Fit-Out Design Manager for a well-established main contractor operating across the UK and Ireland. They have been delivering commercial, hospitality, healthcare, residential and data centre projects for over 90 years and work with some of the most recognisable names in the country. This is a busy fit-out division running tight, fast-track programmes, so the role will suit a Design Manager who enjoys pace and takes real ownership of the design process from start to finish.
About the Role
Our client is hiring on attitude and drive first. If you understand fit-out design coordination and you are proactive, organised and confident driving a programme forward, they want to hear from you. Solid experience is welcome, but the right character and work ethic matter more here than years on paper.

Responsibilities
- Managing the design process from pre-construction through to completion
- Coordinating consultants, subcontractor design and information release so site is never held up waiting on drawings
- Managing RFIs, technical submittals and sample approvals through to sign-off
- Keeping the design programme on track against demanding deadlines and flagging risk early
- Working closely with the project and commercial teams to keep buildability, cost and quality aligned
- Chairing design team meetings and keeping all parties moving to programme
Qualifications
- A proactive approach, someone who gets ahead of problems rather than sitting on them.

- Strong organisation and a calm head when programmes are under pressure
- Clear communication with designers, clients and site teams
- A genuine interest in fit-out and in doing the job properly
- Design management or design coordination experience is an advantage, though attitude and aptitude carry real weight on this one
Pay range and compensation package
- £70,000 - 75,000
- Genuine progression within a busy and growing division
