Role: Design Manager
Location: London
We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a leading construction and fit-out business delivering high-quality commercial workplace projects across London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager with a strong background in commercial office fit-out, CAT A and CAT B projects, looking to join an established team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
You will take ownership of the design management process, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure designs are coordinated, buildable and delivered in line with programme and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the design process from pre-construction through to completion.
- Coordinating architects, consultants, MEP teams and specialist subcontractors.
- Managing design programmes, information and deliverables.
- Leading design coordination meetings and ensuring actions are closed out.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
- Identifying and resolving design and technical issues.
- Working closely with commercial and construction teams to ensure buildability.
- Managing design changes and their impact on programme and cost.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within commercial construction or fit-out.
- Strong experience delivering CAT A and CAT B workplace/office fit-outs.
- Experience working on projects within London.
- Strong technical and design coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A good understanding of construction methodology and buildability.
- Experience working with specialist subcontractors and design-and-build packages.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively under programme pressures.
