Role Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join a dynamic manufacturing company specialising in high-quality cleanroom facilities for the Life Science sector. Based at their manufacturing headquarters with options for remote working for the right candidate, this role offers a chance to lead design activities within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Design Manager to oversee the delivery of design projects, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be instrumental in coordinating cross-disciplinary teams, managing design processes, and driving excellence in project execution across a fast-growing enterprise.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Your duties as the Design Manager will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead and manage all design activities within the assigned business stream, ensuring resource efficiency, workload balance, and high-quality, compliant design outputs.
- Ensure adherence to the Design Process, VDC documentation, and departmental procedures, including proper document control and filing.
- Identify potential design risks, delays, and coordination issues early, implementing mitigation strategies and tracking changes to scope, time, and costs.
- Maintain clear communication and coordination between the Design, Project Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Installation, and Validation teams to support successful project delivery.
- As the Design Manager, you will actively promote best practices, support continuous improvement of design standards, and leverage digital workflows and technologies to enhance efficiency.

Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Design Manager, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

- A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Design, Construction Management).
- Proven experience in leading design teams within manufacturing, construction, or technical project environments, ideally involving regulated sectors such as Life Science or similar.
- Demonstrable knowledge of design process management, digital workflows, and industry standards for quality and safety compliance.
