M&E Design Manager – Top-Tier Main Contractor
Location: London
Salary/Package: £100,000 + Car Allowance + Travel + Flexible Working
Skilled Careers is exclusively partnering with one of the UK’s leading and most recognizable main contractors to secure a highly capable M&E Design Manager for a major portfolio of landmark projects across London.

The Role
As the M&E Design Manager, you will take ownership of the building services design process from pre-construction through to delivery. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring design viability, value engineering, and seamless coordination between external design consultants, the commercial teams, and the operational delivery teams on site.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the M&E design process from tender and pre-construction phases through to project handover.
- Review and scrutinize consultant design information to ensure it is robust, buildable, and compliant with client briefs and regulations.
- Lead technical coordination meetings and drive value engineering initiatives.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for building services across designated London projects.
- Mitigate design-related risks and ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical packages with the wider build.
About You
- Proven track record working as an M&E Design Manager, ideally within a large main contractor or a prominent M&E subcontractor environment.
- A strong technical foundation in building services (Mechanical or Electrical bias) with an excellent understanding of the full project lifecycle.
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify design risks and opportunities for value engineering.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
