Our Engineering Team
The engineering team at Accuride International Northampton is a dedicated group of experts in the design, development, and production of high-quality telescopic slides and linear motion products for unique architectural and furniture applications. Our focus is on providing innovative solutions for products such as sliding door systems, pocket door systems, and heavy-duty Aluminum slides. With our passion for engineering excellence, we have developed a dynamic and flexible approach that allows us to engineer both catalog products and bespoke solutions for our customers from concept to series production in our factory. Our engineering team works closely with clients to ensure that they receive the best product to meet their specific requirements, from initial design to the final product. The Role
To expand our product and process engineering capabilities we are looking for a
Design & Production Engineer
Your responsibilities will be the following:
- Cradle to Grave engineering with a hands-on approach to design, prototyping, testing, and then implementing into production – using Design for Assembly/Design for Manufacture methodologies.
- Provide support for validation and verification activities, working closely with the sample shop and test engineer to ensure testing is conducted in accordance with standards and project guidelines.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to design new products based on their specifications and requirements.
- Develop assembly aids, jigs, and fixtures in close collaboration with the Quality and Operations departments to improve efficiency and quality of production.
- Offer assistance to the assembly team in troubleshooting and resolving problems that arise during production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product design, development, and production processes.
- Occasional domestic and foreign travel required.

The ideal candidate has:
- A degree in mechanical engineering or similar qualification acquired otherwise
- Minimum 2 years experience in product design and development, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to product design and development.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, ideally Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
