Role Overview

CCL Global is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to support the delivery of major UK power and energy infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across large-scale projects, working closely with engineering, construction, commercial, client, and site teams from design development through to construction and commissioning.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience supporting the delivery of large-scale power generation, energy, or grid infrastructure projects in the region of 400 MW or above.

Location: Home-based with UK site visits and HO (London)
Employment: Permanent or Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design delivery across major power projects.
  • Manage design programmes, deliverables, interfaces, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical, and associated engineering disciplines.
  • Act as the key interface between design, engineering, construction, and project delivery teams.
  • Manage consultants, subcontractors, and external design partners.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure solutions are safe, compliant, and constructible.
  • Manage design risks, technical queries, changes, and project interfaces.
  • Ensure design information is delivered in line with programme and construction requirements.
  • Support projects through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

  • Proven Design Project Management / Design Management experience within the power or energy sector.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering 400 MW+ power/energy projects.
  • Strong multidisciplinary engineering and design coordination experience.
  • Experience taking major projects through design into construction.
  • Strong understanding of design governance, risk, and project interfaces.
  • Excellent stakeholder, consultant, and contractor management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently from home and travelling to project sites as required.

Experience across BESS, power generation, renewable energy, substations, grid infrastructure, or other major EPC power projects would be particularly relevant.
