Job Title: UX Researcher
Location: London
Contract length: 6 Months (with possible extension)
Working Pattern: 2 days per week in the office
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading organisation in the banking industry, is seeking a talented and passionate UX Researcher to join their dynamic team. With a commitment to transforming banking through innovative design and research, this role presents an exciting opportunity to shape product and service development for millions of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the research strategy for a key business area, collaborating with multi-disciplinary design, product, and engineering teams.
- Manage research plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with both short-term objectives and long-term strategic direction.
- Conduct generative and evaluative research to uncover customer insights, solve problems, and identify new opportunities.
- Deliver impactful research findings that synthesise qualitative and quantitative data, guiding product development and stakeholder engagement.
- Foster collaboration and influence across teams, ensuring research is a team sport that drives consensus and action.
- Engage in varied research methodologies, including usability testing, concept testing, ethnographic studies, and accessibility research.

Key Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Previous experience as a UX Researcher, User Researcher, or Design Researcher.
- Proficient in both generative and evaluative research practises, ideally with experience in financial services.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience in creating research roadmaps and managing research strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Deep qualitative research experience, including usability testing (both moderated and unmoderated), concept testing, and depth interviews.
- Ability to synthesise insights into actionable recommendations, fostering a shared understanding of user needs.
- Familiarity with AI applications in research is advantageous.
- Ethnographic research experience, such as contextual inquiries or diary studies, is a plus.
- A commitment to accessibility research and understanding the needs of vulnerable customers.
