The Role
As the Design Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Design Technology department by:
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons.
- Maintaining workshop machinery and ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
- Supporting teachers during practical lessons where required.
- Managing stock levels and ordering materials.
- Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment.
- Assisting with displays and department resources.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Design Technology Technician will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Design Technology Technician or working in a workshop, engineering or educational setting.
- Knowledge of workshop tools, machinery and health & safety procedures.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive and reliable approach to supporting staff and students.
- A genuine interest in education and practical learning.
