Designate Bodyshop Manager
Please note that as part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to attend an assessment centre, on 9th September 2026 (09:30AM - 13:00PM) in Bilston.

As we continue to grow, ABL 1 Touch are looking to recruit a Designate Bodyshop Manager to join our Team covering areas of Midlands.
About the Role
As a Designate Bodyshop Manager, you will spend a minimum of 8 weeks learning the ABL 1Touch Way of Working and then support a geographical area until a suitable permanent location is assigned.

Once you are assigned a permanent location you will be responsible for the running of our site, overseeing site and Colleague performance, safety, quality and customer service. You will ensure that policy, process and our Way of Working is followed, and consistency maintained across all Site operations and that a safe working environment is operated and maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Designate Bodyshop Manager will include:
- Productivity of workshop
- Maintaining level of quality, including Quality control
- Ensuring that all required documentation including check sheets are completed comprehensively
- Communication with relevant parties on constraints to productivity and maintenance
- High levels of housekeeping maintained
- Statutory requirements fulfilled by operators (health and safety, COSHH etc.)
- Insurance company requirements are maintained
- Ensure non-productive time kept to a minimum.
- Productivity targets achieved.
Skills and experience required
Skills and experience required as a Designate Bodyshop Manager:
- Previous experience as a site / workshop / BodyShop Manager of Assistant Manager in the automotive industry
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in the repair of motor vehicles environment
- Strong people management experience, with the ability to lead a team to deliver results.
- Motor manufacturer qualifications and experience and an understanding of modern repair processes and techniques
- Pro-active approach to managing the customer journey – customer focused and eager to get it right first time.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Well organised with an ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload.
- Good attention to detail and comfortable using MS office.
- Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Upbeat and friendly personality
- Technical skills, knowledge and experience of body and paint repair in the retail motor industry
