Job Description
Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent & Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent & Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) & Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses & Newly Qualified Nurses.
You will be a Senior Design specialist in the Communications and Engagement Team, leading the creation of high-quality visual, digital and multimedia content that supports communication, engagement and campaign activity for Kent Community Health NHS FT.
The trust delivers a wide range of internal and external communications activity, including digital communications, campaigns, publications, websites, social media, video content, events and patient information.
Alongside your trust responsibilities, you will also work closely with the Head of Digital Communications to support the development and delivery of a proposed Kent-wide NHS design programme, which will bring together design and communications colleagues from NHS organisations across Kent & Medway to strengthen design capacity, share expertise and support the delivery of high-quality communications and engagement activity.
You will manage multiple design and creative projects simultaneously, ensuring work is delivered to agreed standards, timescales and priorities. You will work closely with communications colleagues, service leads and system partners to develop creative concepts, advise on design approaches and deliver effective communications solutions.

Your Daily Activities Will Be Varied And May Include
- Leading the design and production of corporate publications, reports, presentations, campaign materials and information resources
- Developing creative concepts and visual identities for campaigns, projects and organisational priorities
- Producing digital content for websites, intranets, social media, email communications and online platforms
- Creating and editing video content, animations and multimedia resources
- Providing specialist advice on branding, accessibility, user experience and visual communication
- Supporting photography, filming and live streaming activity where appropriate
- Coordinating design projects and requests that form part of the Kent NHS design programme
- Supporting oversight of project pipelines, workload management and capacity planning across the virtual design network
- Developing collaborative relationships with communications and design colleagues across NHS organisations in Kent
- Managing relationships with external suppliers, printers, agencies and production partners
- Evaluating the effectiveness of design and campaign activity and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Maintaining and promoting NHS and organisational brand standards across all communications materials.
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026. Following integration and to align our community services to the new Neighbourhood Model of care delivery, there will be a period of consultation which may result in changes affecting some services, teams or roles.
