Purpose
The Designer is the creative production engine of British Triathlon — the person who ensures everything looks and feels unmistakably us. From a social media graphic to a fully dressed event venue, this role ensures that every visual touchpoint reflects British Triathlon's brand with consistency, quality, and creative ambition.
Working across the whole organisation and reporting to the Head of Content & Communications, the Designer collaborates with colleagues in Content, Marketing, Commercial, and beyond to bring campaigns, programmes, and key moments to life. No two weeks look the same — and that variety is exactly what makes this role exciting.
Key Tasks
Brand Guardianship & Visual Identity
- Act as custodian of British Triathlon's visual brand, ensuring all design output across the organisation is consistent, distinctive, and aligned to brand guidelines.
- Maintain, develop, and police brand assets, templates, and guidelines — including creating and managing a library of Microsoft Office and Canva templates that enable colleagues across the organisation to produce on-brand materials independently.
- Provide guidance and quality control on brand application across teams, partners, and suppliers, flagging and resolving inconsistencies wherever they arise.
- Contribute creative input to brand development conversations, supporting the Head of Content & Communications with the evolution of British Triathlon's visual identity over time.
Multi-Channel Design & Production
- Design and produce a wide range of assets across digital and print channels, including social media graphics, web assets, email templates, brochures, posters, signage, advertising, and promotional materials.
- Support major events with on-site brand delivery, from promotional assets and pull-up banners to broader event space design, working with external suppliers to ensure execution meets brief.
- Contribute creative input to kit design conversations with commercial and kit partners, ensuring brand consistency is reflected in athlete and team apparel.
- Create branded templates and assets for internal communications, presentations, and organisational materials, ensuring a consistent look and feel beyond just the public-facing brand.
- Produce simple motion graphics and animated assets for social media where required, with awareness of AI-assisted design tools as part of a modern creative workflow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
