About The Role
Designer Coordinator (Water)
Working hours: Full time, Permanent
Salary: up to Essex up to £45,248 per annum depending on experience
Location: Hanningfield, Chelmsford, Essex
About The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering completed designs in line with agreed scheme programmes, ensuring all outputs meet company procedures and policies. You will support the Project Manager by facilitating the design process, helping to keep projects moving efficiently from concept through to completion.
- You will manage the administration and organisation of project files, ensuring that all documentation is maintained accurately and archived appropriately.
- Building effective working relationships will be an important part of the role, as you will regularly liaise with colleagues across different teams, as well as external stakeholders and third parties where required.
- A key aspect of the role will involve identifying and defining the critical success factors that contribute to a fully developed design, ensuring it is suitable for installation and commissioning.
- You will also be responsible for preparing design packages in line with CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
As part of a forward-thinking team, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of design principles and processes, supporting the adoption of new technologies and engineering practices. You may also be asked to undertake additional reasonable tasks in line with business needs and operational priorities.
About You
You will bring an understanding of construction and an awareness of both design and construction project lifecycles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and collaborative way.
- You are confident interpreting utility drawings and have a sound appreciation of water mains design, including pipeline hydraulics, materials and fittings selection would be beneficial.
- An awareness of CDM regulations and how they apply to design work is important in ensuring safe and compliant project delivery.
You are comfortable using a range of digital tools and systems, with a good level of computer literacy and an appreciation for computer-aided design. Experience with systems such as GIS or AutoCAD is essential, along with confidence using everyday applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

- You have strong written and numerical skills, allowing you to produce clear and accurate reports, proposals and correspondence.
