About Brand Hackers

Our diverse team of experts covers all marketing mix elements, from brand strategy and social media to performance and web development and beyond and with over 100 brands under our belt, our Brand Hackers have a treasure trove of shared experiences. This wealth of knowledge fuels our creativity and gives us the edge.

We’re 4 years old and have grown from just 2 of us to 25+ people with knock-out case studies we’re really proud of and a serious growing reputation (even if we say so ourselves).

Beyond FMCG, we're building iconic challenger brands across Beauty, Luxury, Film, and more working with big challengers like Tony’s Chocolonely and emerging hot startups like Little’s Coffee. From customer insights and brand strategy to campaign planning and comms strategy, our team tackles a wide range of briefs.

You can read lots more about what we do on our website.

The job at hand

We’re building a bench of exceptional freelance Designers to plug into projects as briefs land.

In our world, design isn't just what happens once the strategy's locked. Sometimes you're building the brand identity hand-in-hand with the strategic foundation or turning a half-formed idea into something a founder can get inspired by, before the thinking's fully signed off. Other times when the brand design is set, you’re executing and elevating to a standard that surprises everyone involved.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This can be brand design, graphic design, or both, depending on the project. This is not a "make it look nice" role. It's about understanding what a brand stands for well enough to design things that are distinctive, on brand and built to work in the real world, not just the deck.

What we need from you

  • Develop brand identities whether it’s a rebrand or net-new creation, taking a brand from visual identity through to guidelines
  • Produce paid ad creative and social media graphics across multiple brands and formats
  • Design campaign artwork from the brief through to the final deliverable
  • Create trade marketing materials, including POS, shelf talkers, sell sheets, and retailer assets
  • Design reports, presentations, and pitch decks that make people actually want to read them
  • Work within brand guidelines and help maintain consistency across all touchpoints
  • Manage your own time and deadlines across multiple brands simultaneously
  • Bring a point of view - we want designers who care about the outcome, not just the output

We have a Senior Designer going on a short-term maternity leave. We’ll require someone flexible who can pick up work mid-project, dive into a brand quickly and manage a range of briefs and scopes varying in size and output.

What You'll Bring

  • A solid grasp of core design principles - hierarchy, balance, contrast, and white space - and an understanding of why they matter
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency - Illustrator, Figma and InDesign are non-negotiable
  • A keen interest / demonstrable experience in Premiere Pro / After Effects is desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of print production - bleed, cutter guides, safe zones, and colour profiles (CMYK vs RGB)
  • A strong eye for typography - kerning, tracking, leading, and type pairing
  • Canva fluency for fast turnaround assets - though you'll know when a template isn't enough
  • A portfolio that ideally demonstrates experience in FMCG, F&B and challenger brand spaces.
  • The humility to take feedback and the confidence to push back when you're right

What We Can Offer

  • Flexible freelance work that fits around your schedule
  • Support from a lead Brand Hacker who's got your back
  • Access to tools, templates and a wider crew of Brand Hackers
  • Membership to Up World while you work with us

To be considered for this role, please include a link to your portfolio or a selection of work samples with your application. Applications without a portfolio will not be progressed.
