Designer

Moth is a quantum computing company pioneering the next era of media, entertainment and creativity.

We're looking for a Designer to shape how the company looks—across our website, brand, product interfaces, decks, socials and printed media. You'll work across identity, typography, layout, motion and image, and bring a consistent visual language to everything the company puts out, from Atlas (the Moth Platform) to a project microsite, to a conference stand.

Strong design instincts are required for this role, but we're also looking for a varied technical skillset: someone who moves quickly between different kinds of software and tools—a layout, a motion piece, a web page, a 3D render, a prototype, a generative system—and who can contribute to the in-house development of our creative applications. That means being eager to pick up new tools and skills, including code and quantum programming languages.

You don't need a quantum background, but you should be curious about it and able to make unfamiliar, complex ideas look clear. And you'll give the same care to a corporate deck as to an impact-driven, experimental project with the Studios team.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Moth's visual identity—typography, colour, layout, motion and image—and keep it consistent across everything the company puts out: website, product UI, launches, decks, social, events and print.
  • Build out the design system as working tooling—Figma libraries and plugins, a Claude Design system—so it holds together across web and product and anyone on the team can produce on-brand work from it.
  • Design interfaces for Atlas, our apps and demos, and work with engineering through to shipping—specs, components, review—so what goes out matches what was designed.
  • Work with researchers to turn complex quantum concepts into interfaces, diagrams and explanations that non-specialists can follow.
  • Collaborate with Studios and Marketing on launches, showcases, talks and partner projects.
  • Build what you design where it makes sense: landing pages, microsites, components and prototypes in HTML, CSS and React.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • A strong digital design portfolio: typography, layout, identity and image, with real work that has gone out into the world.
  • 3–5+ years as a designer in a studio, agency or in-house team with a digital focus.
  • Enough front-end to build your own work—HTML, CSS and some JavaScript or React—and the appetite to do more of it.
  • Fluency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and at least one motion tool (After Effects, Rive, Jitter or similar).
  • An eye for detail, a high rate of output, and the judgement to know when something is finished.
  • Work in the open: you show things early, take the feedback, and iterate.
  • Comfort working from a loose brief, making decisions and explaining them clearly to people who aren't designers.
  • Based in London or willing to relocate, with a minimum of three days spent in the office each week.

What will set you apart

  • Experience designing interfaces for software products, not only brand and campaign work.
  • Creative coding or generative work—p5.js, three.js, shaders, TouchDesigner—or a personal site you built yourself that you're proud of.
  • Motion and animation beyond a logo sting: interface motion, explainer animation, video editing.
  • Type design, lettering or a serious interest in typography.
  • Experience in games, music or audiovisual culture.
  • AI tools already in your workflow—image, video, code or agents—and a view on where they help and where they don’t.
  • Exposure to quantum computing—or a genuine curiosity to learn what it is.

Why Moth

This is a chance to define how quantum-powered media looks and feels in practice. We are building at the edge of technology and culture, alongside engineers, researchers and creatives who care deeply about what they are building. The problems are ambitious. The standards are high. The thinking is rigorous.

You won't be refreshing an established brand. You will be defining what quantum computing looks like for a generation of people meeting it for the first time. How our core technologies look, feel and are understood will be shaped, in part, by you.

If you are energised by complexity, motivated by craft and excited by the idea of giving form to systems that do not yet exist, this is the place to do it.
