Overview
We are seeking a talented and commercially minded Ready-to-Wear Designer with Swimwear experience to join our growing design team. This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about creating elevated Resort wear collections to sit alongside and complement our Swimwear.
The successful candidate will combine creative vision with technical expertise to design collections that are trend-driven, commercially relevant, and aligned with our brand identity. They will work closely with our Founder, Creative Director, Product Development, Merchandising, and Production teams from initial concept through to final delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Research and develop seasonal, continuity and capsule collection concepts, themes, colour palettes, fabrics and silhouettes that align with Hunza G's creative vision and brand strategy.
- Stay informed of emerging fashion trends, contemporary and luxury competitors, consumer behaviour and industry innovations to ensure we remain a category leader.
- Produce inspiring mood boards, design presentations and supporting creative materials.
- Design innovative Resort wear and Swimwear collections from initial concept through to final sample approval, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Present design concepts, seasonal developments and collections to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Drive innovation by researching and implementing new techniques, fabrications, garment constructions and silhouettes that can be applied across the collection.
- Work closely with the Founder, Creative Director and Head of Merchandising throughout every stage of the design and development process.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Production to deliver commercially viable collections that meet design, quality and costing objectives.
- Partner with Product Development and suppliers to source premium fabrics, trims and components that support the creative vision.
- Prepare detailed design briefs with CAD’s, technical drawings, construction details and production specifications.
- Support the creation and accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) alongside Production team.
- Attend all fit sessions from first proto to pre-production with the PD and Technical team to review fit, sizing, garment construction and fabric/trim suitability.
- Balance innovation with consistency, ensuring each collection remains recognisably Hunza G while continually evolving the Resort wear offering.
- Maintain awareness of departmental budgets and manage role-related expenditure responsibly.

What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of Design experience in both woven and knitted ready to wear. Previous experience and knowledge of resortwear swimwear would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of print development, textile design, and embellishment techniques with an understanding of garment construction, fit and fabrics.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience creating production-ready tech packs/design briefs and managing the product development process.
- Strong eye for colour, print, proportion, and silhouette.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with international factories and suppliers. International travel to seasonal trim/fabric fairs and suppliers will be required.
