Role Description

The Design and Product Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Smethwick. The coordinator will support the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept through production, including assisting with design development, sample management, and specification updates for workwear and PPE ranges. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Organizing product information
  • Liaising with designers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Ensuring that product data, measurements, materials, and compliance details are accurate and up to date
  • Tracking timelines
  • Preparing documentation
  • Maintaining style and color libraries
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in fit, functionality, and quality

  • Working closely with operations, sales, and customer service to ensure products meet client requirements and are delivered on time

Qualifications

What to do:

  • Create and develop new product designs, bespoke customer solutions, branding artwork, trims, print, embroidery, and heat-seal graphics.
  • Manage product content, including website and customer portal updates, product imagery, declarations of conformity, feature updates, and customer mock-ups.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams as directed by the Manager to support technical queries and project requirements.
  • Support quality control activities, including sample reviews, production checks, shipping, and warehouse inspections, as directed by the Manager.
  • Contribute to ESG and sustainability initiatives, including recycled products and sustainable packaging solutions.
  • Support product sampling, photography, and visual presentation for marketing and customer requirements.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Competence:

  • Familiarity with design and office software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or similar tools, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and databases).
  • Product coordination and design support skills, including experience managing samples, specifications, and product documentation.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of textiles, garment construction, or PPE/workwear standards, and an interest in practical, functional product design.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with designers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn, with a focus on improving processes, product quality, and customer outcomes.

Experience:

  • Experience in apparel, uniforms, or PPE is beneficial; prior work in a product, merchandising, or production coordination role is an advantage.

Education:

  • Relevant education in fashion, product design, textiles, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
