About Precision Timber

At Precision Timber, we are a family-run company specialising in designing, manufacturing, and installing natural playgrounds, sustainable outdoor equipment, and landscaping solutions. We work across a range of settings, from schools and nurseries to parks, visitor attractions, and community spaces.

We’re passionate about crafting outdoor spaces that encourage children to explore, be creative, and flourish, because every child deserves the chance to play.

Role Overview

We are looking to hire a desk-based account manager to join our business and to be part of newly created sales team that will be responsible for driving the growth of the business over the next 10 years.

Our business aim is to be recognised as a market leader by our clients and the wider specialist timber production market so this exciting phase of business development - with the creation of our new sales function provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to shape our success and develop their own careers within our company.

Currently we have been winning significant new and repeat business through organic means rather than through focused sales activities to date and so the creation of our new sales team is a strategic exercise for us.

Key Responsibilities

As a result, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining customer relationships and as our business grows, be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth.

This role will suit somebody who is comfortable responding to customers and prospects that have made an initial inbound enquiry but still need proactive product support and proactive selling / questioning techniques using the telephone rather than relying on email to close a sale.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers by developing an in depth understanding of our product and services capability.

This will be done through clear and effective communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.

Although timber industry experience is desirable, it is not essential as we value self-starters, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude. We are looking to find candidates with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of selling based on value and not just price.

This role will be particularly suitable for candidates who have had past sales experience and so we are looking for individuals who have had at least 18 months working in a sales position who are used to delivering against sales targets.

Sales leads are generated from our own marketing activities, but you will also be expected to generate your own leads and manage a pipeline with sufficient coverage to ensure target performance.

The business is also recruiting a field-based account executive so you will be expected to work closely with this person to ensure that opportunities for project type business are identified and passed to this person for action.
