The role
As a Deskside Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping London Stansted Airport connected. Working as part of our Technical Operations team, you'll provide hands-on IT support across the airport, helping colleagues stay productive and ensuring technology issues are resolved quickly and effectively.

From supporting desktops, laptops and mobile devices to administering Microsoft 365 and Azure services, you'll be at the forefront of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll work directly with colleagues across the airport, providing face-to-face support, troubleshooting technical issues and helping minimise disruption to critical business systems.
Key accountabilities
- Manage incidents and service requests, ensuring disruption to IT services is kept to a minimum.
- Deliver support against agreed service level targets.
- Provide face-to-face technical support and resolution for end users across the airport.
- Support desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and other end-user technologies.
- Carry out user account administration across relevant systems including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and operating system issues.
- Assist third-party suppliers with fault investigation and resolution where required.
- Follow documented processes, policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality service.
- Escalate issues that could impact service delivery to the Technical Support Team Leader.
- Contribute to a safe working environment and comply with all health and safety requirements.
What will make you successful in the role?
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people and delivering great customer service.
You may already have experience in a deskside support, IT support or service desk environment, or you may be looking to build on a strong technical background in a hands-on support role.

You'll ideally bring:
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience administering user accounts within Active Directory.
- Exposure to Azure administration.
- Knowledge of device deployment and support tools such as SCCM.
- Experience troubleshooting desktop, laptop and mobile device issues.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
- ITIL Foundation qualification or equivalent practical experience.
Most importantly, you'll be a team player who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service and is motivated by finding solutions that keep our airport moving.
