We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced IT Deskside Engineer to join us in Manchester.

What will you be doing?

As Systal’s onsite IT Deskside Engineer you will perform a vital role delivering first- and second-line incident management support and request fulfilment to business and IT system users. The role also supports the delivery of projects and business as usual tasks across the wider Enterprise IT team. Key accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Control the stock of all portable IT equipment, managing the issuing and recovering of laptops and peripherals from joiners and leavers and in life replacements.
  • Ensure that there is enough stock to maintain sufficient levels to service the business needs through collaboration with HR and the different business operations teams.
  • Maintain the Snow Software Asset Management application.
  • Request, Incident & Problem Management
    • Troubleshooting desktops and system problems diagnose and solve or provide workarounds for hardware and software incidents and problems.
    • Work to SLAs for incidents, requests, and problems.
    • Build and issue IT equipment for new starters and when replacing faulty equipment for existing users.
    • Assist in the creation of user accounts and the allocation of licenses as required.
    • Support with services, application delivery, patching, and anti-virus to ensure the business remains compliant.
  • Provide exceptional Service Support to the business
  • Produce process, procedures, guidance documentation for the activities you undertake and ensure they accurately reflect current ways of working.

Who are we looking for?

This role requires onsite working, so alongside the below experience you must also be based locally to Manchester:

  • Experience within IT Service Delivery, Technical Support, Performance Analysis and Reporting
  • Experience of ITIL
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an IT Support environment
  • Experience of using helpdesk applications
