Weekend Deskside Support Engineer

Insight Global are seeking a Weekend Deskside Support Engineer for a leading global financial services organisation.

This position requires 5 days onsite (Saturday to Wednesday) in London, UK for a 12-month contract and is Inside IR35.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support end-user technology services as part of a large-scale infrastructure and network upgrade initiative. This role is focused on delivering excellent deskside support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, validating desktop and telephony infrastructure, and ensuring a seamless experience for end users. The ideal candidate will be highly reliable, proactive in communication, and comfortable working independently while engaging with a variety of stakeholders.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma.
  • Previous deskside support experience.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience across desktop environments.
  • Strong experience supporting Windows operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to commit to weekend working schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a proactive and reliable approach.

Plusses

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide deskside support for end users across desktop and workplace technologies.
  • Perform infrastructure validation activities for end-user computing and telephony systems.
  • Conduct user login testing and system validation checks.
  • Support Zoom and collaboration technology testing.
  • Complete workplace asset scanning and inventory management activities.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, hardware, software, and telephony-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a high-quality support experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, assets, and support activities.
  • Support technology readiness activities as part of a wider network upgrade programme.

Work Schedule

  • Weekend hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Weekday hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
