About the Role
Our client is a global investment management firm looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join a small, highly technical IT team supporting users across international offices. You will provide high-quality technical support to approximately 275 users, including senior executives, portfolio managers, traders and other front-office teams, while also taking ownership of key infrastructure and endpoint technologies.
The environment is modern and predominantly Microsoft and Azure-focused, with a strong emphasis on Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, Okta, CrowdStrike, Microsoft 365 and endpoint security. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where issues need to be resolved quickly, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, security and documentation.

- Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, applications, networking and collaboration technologies.
- Manage joiner, mover and leaver processes, including account provisioning, hardware, Intune, Okta and Microsoft 365.
- Maintain accurate asset records and support documentation.

- Administer and support Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, images and user experience.
- Support endpoint security technologies including CrowdStrike.
- Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
