Desktop Support Analyst – Global Investment Firm

Location: London
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Schedule: 4 days per week in office

The opportunity

Actus Search is working with a leading global quantitative investment manager to hire a Desktop Support Analyst into its London technology team. You’ll support a global community of 500+ users in a Windows environment, working face to face on site and remotely. This is a high-touch role in a fast-moving trading business. You’ll be expected to fix issues quickly, communicate well and find ways to automate repetitive work.

Your impact

  • Supporting users on Windows, Outlook/Exchange and Microsoft Office, both on-premise and in the cloud
  • Managing access control through Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Resolving remote access and hardware issues
  • Providing 24x5 support, plus weekend on-call on a rota
  • Handling incidents and requests promptly, following established runbooks and ITSM processes
  • Working with Level 2/3 teams and external vendors to fix more complex issues
  • Monitoring alerts and fixing failed, degraded or unavailable services before users are affected
  • Automating common tasks to improve efficiency
  • Working with internal and external teams on longer-term improvements

What you’ll bring

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012+
  • Detailed knowledge of Office 365 and Azure, including Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and DLP
  • Solid experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, remote access solutions and software deployment
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting and managing desktop hardware
  • A strong commitment to customer service, with the confidence to support demanding users
  • Able to work with little supervision, keep several priorities moving and follow tickets through to resolution
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative, team-first approach
  • Curious about new technology, and comfortable solving problems you haven’t seen before
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
