Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line Support)
3-Month Contract | £200 per day | Outside IR35
Central London (EC2) | Onsite 5 Days per Week
Start within the next 2-4 weeks
We are currently seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) to join a leading financial services client based in Central London (EC2) on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a fully onsite position, requiring attendance 5 days per week, supporting end users in a fast-paced and professional financial environment. The successful candidate will be available for an immediate start and will possess excellent communication skills alongside strong technical support experience.
Desktop Support Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to end users across the business.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
- Administer and support Active Directory user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (O365) applications and services.
- Manage and resolve incidents and service requests through a ticketing system.
- Perform device setup, deployment, and user onboarding activities.
- Escalate complex issues where required and maintain accurate documentation.

Desktop Support Engineer Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a 1st/2nd Line Desktop Support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Experience supporting Active Directory environments.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 (O365) administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with ITSM/ticketing systems.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to support senior stakeholders.
- Experience within financial services or a corporate environment is highly desirable.

Desktop Support Engineer Contract Details
- 3-Month Initial Contract + chance and scope to extend or transition to permanent
- £200 per day Outside IR35 or Via Umbrella
- Central London (EC2)
- Fully Onsite – 5 Days Per Week Monday to Friday
- Immediate Start Available
