About The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Support professional to join our team as the sole on-site IT support person for a pharmaceutical company located within the Cambridge Science Park. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues on-site, supporting approximately 50 users. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line support, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT systems within the office environment.
This position is based entirely at the client's site, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The role is initially offered on a three-month rolling contract basis, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within a dynamic environment. The role is compensated at £200 per day outside of IR35, reflecting the specialized nature of the position and the level of responsibility involved.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably within a corporate or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Office applications.
- Hands-on experience with hardware setup, configuration, and troubleshooting, including printers and peripheral devices.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues effectively to non-technical users.
- Comfortable working independently in a face-to-face support capacity.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support to approximately 50 users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently.
- Manage and resolve hardware-related problems, including desktop and laptop setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Assist users with printer issues, connectivity problems, and other peripheral device concerns.
- Escalate complex issues to remote 2nd and 3rd line support teams as necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in on-site projects and system upgrades, collaborating with remote support teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and security standards to protect sensitive data and systems.
