Despatch General Operative
Westerleigh, BS37 8QZ
Monday to Friday 13:30- 22:00
Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a motivated and reliable Despatch General Operative to join our busy Despatch team at Westerleigh.
This is a hands-on role within our warehouse and logistics operation, where you will be responsible for preparing, loading and dispatching goods for outbound delivery. You will play a vital role in ensuring products are accurately picked, scanned and loaded while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Load outbound vehicles with prepared goods.
- Operate forklifts and electric pallet trucks (PPT) safely and efficiently.
- Scan products using handheld devices to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Complete load sheets and dispatch paperwork accurately.
- Carry out stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform daily safety checks on equipment before use.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised loading bay environment.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
- Support the team in meeting daily dispatch targets.

What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse, logistics or dispatch experience is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and confidence using handheld scanning devices.
- Commitment to Health & Safety standards.
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment (4°C).
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends when required.
- Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience operating a forklift or PPT is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
