We are looking for a Despatch Operative to join the team in Salford. This is a key role in the production function and in supporting an efficient and professional service to our clients.

- Pack all final delivery goods with firm materials and the correct label with address and receiver.
- Work using both SGK’s own system as well as various shipping company systems.
- Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods.
- To demonstrate good communication skills, commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
- To work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Control both cardboard & wood recycling in the yard.
- Keep a clean & tidy working environment.
- Take in deliveries
- Take delivery of various stock and put away in the correct places.
- Using company vehicles to deliver or collect from local company’s (Dependant on a full UK driving licence).
Skills And Experience
The role does include heavy lifting and a lot of manual handling.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a small team while also being self motivated to work alone.
- Good computer skills required.
- FLT license advantageous but not essential (training will be given)

During the initial training period the hours will be 10am – 6pm. After the initial training the successful applicant will be expected to work alternate shifts of 6:30am – 2:30pm & a flexible shift depending on workload usually the latest finish would be 8pm.
