Despatch Operative

Sittingbourne UK

Your Mission

Reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials and finished products both within the business and outbound to our customers. This role involves operating industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklifts and pump trucks to move products, equipment and materials.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare goods for customer and haulier collections.
  • Pick and check customer orders for out loading.
  • Receive products from production and send them to designated storage areas or out loading vehicles.
  • Conduct daily/monthly stock checks and rotate shelf-life products.
  • Input returns of packaging materials from inbound deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate and signed-off distribution of packaging materials to customers.
  • Maintain and file inventory records of despatch reports daily.
  • Load vehicles/hauliers in the yard or warehouse despatch areas.
  • Keep the warehouse, dispatch area and yard tidy with the Clean as You Go policy.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Record inbound/outbound stock correctly and send to the correct locations.
  • Restock products in various chilled cold stores daily.
  • Perform any ad hoc duties required by the Supervisor or Manager.

What We Expect From You

  • Experience of checking in and dispatching goods in a busy environment.
  • A good work ethic with excellent time keeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, balancing the demands of multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and basic mathematics.
  • Attention to detail & a commitment to quality.
  • Flexibility and multi-tasking.
  • Physically fitness with the ability to work in fast-moving chilled and ambient warehouse environments.
  • A Current counterbalance forklift truck license would be desirable.

  • £13.70 per hour.
  • 5% bonus scheme.
  • Core hours are 10:00 – 18:00, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Permanent full-time role.
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
