Description

The Role

As Despatch Supervisor, you'll lead our despatch team to ensure orders are picked, loaded, and delivered safely and on time. You'll coach your team, drive operational performance, and maintain high standards of customer service and safety.

Daily you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team to achieve operational and customer service goals
  • Overseeing daily despatch operations, ensuring orders are picked, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time
  • Managing workload priorities, staffing requirements and resource planning
  • Controlling Inventory and stock management with the use of continuous improvement techniques
  • Effective fleet and logistics management to meet DIFOT targets cost-effectively
  • Maintain accurate documentation and system information across ACE, TMS and related platforms
  • Coach team members through on-the-job training and development
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including Sales, Trade Support, Inventory and Delivery Services teams
  • Ensuring all health, safety and environmental standards are consistently maintained and championed

This is a permanent full-time role. Offering 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday.

About You

We are looking for someone with a passion for leading a team, who is highly motivated to make decisions and act to continuously improve performance and safety measures.

  • Previous leadership experience within despatch, warehousing, logistics, distribution or a similar operational environment
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
  • Strong customer service focus and a commitment to delivering great outcomes
  • Experience working with inventory, workflow management or order management systems
  • Have a clean Full driver’s licence as well as a valid F-endorsement and Forklift driving experience
  • Physically fit with a solid health & safety values
  • Proactive and able to think on your feet under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure
  • Solid computer literacy and attention to detail
  • Building industry or building products knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential
