We’re Hiring: Destination Marketing Manager

📍 Remote (United Kingdom)
🕒 Full-Time
💼 Level: Manager / Mid-Level / Experienced
💰 Base Salary: £3,500+ per month

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and results-driven Destination Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of destination marketing strategies that increase awareness, visitor engagement, demand, and tourism growth.

This role is ideal for an experienced marketing professional who is passionate about destinations, tourism, travel, digital marketing, brand development, partnerships, and visitor experiences, and who can translate destination strategies into compelling campaigns and measurable results.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive destination marketing strategies aligned with tourism and commercial objectives
  • Lead integrated campaigns across digital, social media, content, email, PR, partnerships, events, and traditional marketing channels
  • Develop annual destination marketing plans, campaign calendars, budgets, timelines, and performance objectives
  • Lead destination brand positioning, messaging, storytelling, and promotional initiatives
  • Promote destinations, attractions, cultural experiences, events, tours, accommodation, and tourism products
  • Develop and oversee content strategies across websites, social media, blogs, newsletters, destination guides, video, and other channels
  • Manage paid and organic campaigns across Google, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms
  • Oversee SEO, content marketing, email marketing, social media, digital acquisition, and conversion initiatives
  • Develop strategic relationships with tourism boards, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, airlines, attractions, media organisations, influencers, and local tourism partners
  • Identify and develop co-marketing, sponsorship, affiliate, partnership, and promotional opportunities
  • Manage external agencies, freelancers, content creators, PR partners, designers, and marketing suppliers where required
  • Conduct market research and analyse visitor behaviour, tourism trends, competitor activity, destination performance, and emerging markets
  • Monitor campaign performance, website traffic, visitor engagement, enquiries, leads, bookings, revenue, and return on investment
  • Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Use data and customer insights to optimise campaigns, improve conversion, and identify new growth opportunities
  • Oversee the production of destination photography, video, brochures, guides, presentations, advertising materials, and other creative assets
  • Support and represent the destination at tourism trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, promotional events, and industry activities
  • Ensure all marketing activity maintains consistent destination brand standards and messaging
  • Stay informed about emerging tourism trends, destination developments, digital marketing technologies, and changing traveller behaviour

👥 Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate and provide direction to destination marketing officers, executives, coordinators, content creators, and other team members
  • Set campaign priorities, objectives, deadlines, and performance expectations
  • Collaborate closely with tourism, sales, product, operations, partnerships, and senior management teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, feedback, and professional development support to junior marketing team members

✅ Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience in destination marketing, tourism, travel, hospitality, digital marketing, or a related field
  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Marketing, Tourism, Travel, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of destination marketing, tourism strategy, digital marketing, and visitor behaviour
  • Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns
  • Strong copywriting, storytelling, brand development, and content strategy skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Strong understanding of SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, analytics, and digital acquisition
  • Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Canva, CRM platforms, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to turn data into actionable marketing strategies
  • Excellent project management, budget management, and organisational abilities
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on measurable results and return on investment
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, projects, partners, and deadlines
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is an advantage
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Based in the United Kingdom with the legal right to work in the UK
