Salary: £60,000+ DOE
At Callen-Lenz, we are expanding the limits of what is possible. We specialise in crewed and uncrewed aircraft operations and technology and having recently received investment into the business we are going through a period of rapid growth and development and are looking for key roles to assist with these changes. About the role
Reporting to the Head of Deployed Operations, in the role of Detachment Head you will manage and lead a small team within the deployed operations team.

As a Detachment Head, you will need to be able to operate in an expeditionary environment. You must have the ability to make clear and concise decisions independently. Safety will be your highest priority with a strong focus on the real-world application of good practice in a wide range of circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Line management of deployed team, including resource planning, health and safety and security.
- Performance management of individuals through the conduct of routine 1-2-1 meetings.
- Provide support to team members including mentoring, encouraging pan-company collaboration and resolution of emergent issues.
- Management of employee related tasks via company tools, including approval of absence, mandatory training, etc.
- Continuous improvement of operational, delivery, capability and processes to achieve to most professional and effective service for the customer.
- Ensuring the team complies with the company Aviation Operating Framework which enables the safe, compliant, and effective accomplishment of delivery.
- Proactive oversight of a diverse UAS operations, both at home and on deployment.
- Assisting in the development of operational processes and procedures and preparing documentation for flight ops approval.
- Assurance of quality in all aspects of maintenance activities.
- Represent the company as the senior member whilst deployed.
- Report to program management on operational updates.
- Undertake deployments and overseas travel as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Health & Safety
- Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner.
- Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
- When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.
Qualifications
- Holds relevant security risk management qualification or experience.
- Holds a recognised Project Management qualification.

Skills and Experience
- Experience operating model aircraft and/or UAS.
- Possess relevant military experience.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills, written and verbal.
- Experience operating in an expeditionary environment overseas.
- Evidence of successful operations delivery in a team environment.
- Evidence of team management and development.
- Relevant knowledge and experience of aviation regulations.
- Ability to create high quality operational documentation.
Personal Attributes
- Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
- Must be able to deploy overseas for a sustained period.
- A full valid UK driving license.
- Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
- Be able to operate in a small team.
