Post Title: Detective Constable, Domestic Corruption Unit
Type of contract: Secondment until end March 2029, with possibility of extensions on funding renewal.

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:00hrs – 16:00hrs
Statement Of Expectation For The Role
The successful candidate will hold a key role within the new National Domestic Corruption Unit which is dedicated to preventing, disrupting and investigating UK based bribery and corruption across business and public sectors.
They will have a can-do attitude and be keen to shape national policing capability and build trust and confidence to support economic wellbeing of the UK.
Vetting level required: MV/SC
Location: The post is currently based at Bishopsgate Police Station. The role may require occasional travel and deployment across the UK in support of operational and organisational requirements.
Working Arrangements: This position is contracted as an office-based role, and successful candidates should expect to work predominantly from the office. Up to 40% remote working may be available where operationally appropriate; however, any such arrangements are entirely at the discretion of the organisation, taking into account business needs, operational demands, and individual circumstances. Remote working is not a contractual entitlement and may be reviewed or withdrawn as required.

Description Of Department
The National Domestic Corruption Unit sits within the National Lead Force Directorate of the City of London Police and will be part of the NPCC Portfolio for Economic Crime. As a National Lead Force unit, the team will contribute to national operational and strategic leadership in the fields of economic crime and will develop working partnerships across policing, law enforcement agencies and wider.
The National Domestic Corruption Unit has been set up to be dynamic and agile to enable it to pivot to respond to present threats, intelligence led opportunities or significant reactive investigations.
‘Corruption’ is a broad term that can encompass a range of offences including bribery, computer misuse, money laundering, misconduct in a public office and others. Cases can be complex and multi-faceted and involve organised crime groups, ambiguous business relationships, whistleblowers or vulnerable and intimidated witnesses.
As such applications are sought from individuals from diverse backgrounds with diverse skillsets and with solution focussed and pro-active approaches and an ability to adapt and respond to emerging challenges.
Experience dealing with bribery and corruption, organised or major crime, financial investigation, proactive investigation or digital, telecoms or crypto investigation would be an advantage.

The application and interview will be tested under Level 1 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
