Power BI / Insight Developer
📍 Location: London, UK

💷 Salary: £65,000–£70,000 per annum (may go slightly higher)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Power BI / Insight Developer to design, develop and maintain Power BI applications and deliver high-quality reporting and insights for an insurance client.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modelling and dashboard development, combined with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders and translate requirements into meaningful data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI applications, dashboards and reports.
- Build effective data models and prepare data for reporting and analytics.
- Develop solutions using DAX and Power Query.
- Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources into Power BI.
- Create intuitive and engaging dashboards using strong visualisation and data storytelling principles.
- Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand, clarify and deliver business requirements.
- Support reporting and Insight governance standards and promote best practices.
- Analyse business needs, challenge assumptions and recommend appropriate reporting solutions.
- Support and train colleagues in the effective use of insight applications where required.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Power BI development.
- In-depth experience in Insight application development using Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
- Solid experience in data modelling and data preparation.
- Strong experience in Power BI dashboard and report design.
- Understanding of data storytelling principles and techniques.
- Experience working with multiple data sources.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle ambiguity effectively.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with Power BI Report Builder.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with design-led thinking and user-focused reporting.
- Experience training users/colleagues on insight applications.
- Previous experience within the Insurance domain.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical Power BI capability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You should be comfortable understanding business problems, asking the right questions and converting complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
