Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Developer role based in Macclesfield. The Developer will design, build, and maintain software solutions that support DoorCo’s manufacturing processes, product data, and internal systems. Day-to-day tasks include working with our existing Development team on our current software and on new web-based applications. We will soon be starting an exciting development phase where we will be creating a new suite of web-based applications in C#.NETCore to replace some of our older VB.NET Web/WPF applications. As well as contributing to the new software, you will learn how our existing software works to aid in resolving issues and/or adding new features.

This role involves ensuring DoorCo’s existing software remains at high levels of quality to keep the business running smoothly, whilst being an integral part of our new development phase and beyond. We are looking for someone who is willing to put forward ideas, problem solve and work as a team. You will be working on all aspects of software development (front end UI, back end business logic, deployment etc.)

Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, maintainable software.
  • Comfort working on-site within a manufacturing setting, with an interest in process improvement and automation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial systems development is beneficial.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies that support DoorCo’s innovative products and operations.
  • Holds a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience in commercial software development.
  • Proficiency working with C# and.NET technologies.
  • Proficiency working with relational databases, ideally SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in version control systems, ideally GitHub.
  • Full stack developer.
  • Ability to utilise AI technologies on top of programming background to further increase development output.
  • Candidates with less experience or new graduates will be considered that can demonstrate a high level of proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the following would be desirable:
    • Javascript
    • JQuery
    • VB.NET
    • WPF
    • WCF Services
