Job Description
About the Role
As a Developer Services Estimator, you'll play a key role in helping customers connect to our water network, acting as their trusted point of contact throughout the connection journey. You’ll build strong relationships, understand what matters most to each customer, and ensure they receive a positive, efficient and personalised service from application through to quotation and connection.
In This Role, You Will
- Act as the dedicated contact for customers applying for new water service connections.
- Guide customers through the application process, providing clear advice on requirements, timescales and next steps.
- Build positive relationships with customers, ensuring they feel informed, supported and valued at every stage.
- Take ownership of customer queries, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
- Translate technical information into clear, easy-to-understand communications.

You'll Also Develop Specialist Technical Knowledge To
- Assess applications, plans and technical drawings.
- Identify suitable water connection points and produce accurate quotations and connection designs.
- Calculate charges, review meter requirements and assess network capacity and constraints.
- Ensure applications comply with legal, regulatory and company requirements.

About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and takes pride in helping people find solutions. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You'll Be Able To Demonstrate
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help customers.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
- A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload and competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numerical information.
- A willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
Experience within the water industry, utilities, construction, engineering or a related sector would be advantageous but is not essential. Most importantly, you'll bring a customer-focused mindset, a practical approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude towards learning and development.
