About the Role

Are you passionate about transforming how developers build, deploy, and operate software?

Computacenter is looking for a Developer Experience & Platform Engineering Solution Architect to join our growing Cloud & Apps Practice, helping some of the UK's largest public and private sector organisations modernise software delivery through Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), DevOps, and Developer Experience (DevEx) best practices.

As a senior member of our Cloud & Apps Practice, you’ll work at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture, and delivery:

  • Partnering with customers to design and implement modern engineering platforms
  • Improving developer productivity
  • Accelerating delivery
  • Enhancing operational resilience

What You’ll Do

  • Lead customer engagements focused on Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, and software delivery transformation
  • Design and deliver Internal Developer Platforms, CI/CD solutions, and cloud-native engineering capabilities
  • Facilitate workshops with engineering leaders, platform teams, and stakeholders to define:
    • Target operating models
    • Platform strategies
  • Provide technical leadership across consultancy and delivery engagements
  • Support pre-sales activities, solution design, bids, and customer proposals
  • Define best practices, standards, and architectural patterns across our Cloud & Apps Practice
  • Mentor consultants and architects while contributing to the growing Platform Engineering community

What You’ll Bring

Technical Expertise

You’ll have deep experience in:

  • Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
  • Developer Experience (DevEx) and DevOps transformation
  • Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OpenShift)
  • CI/CD tooling, including GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
  • Backstage or similar developer portal technologies
  • Observability, monitoring, and developer feedback platforms
  • Secrets management and identity solutions such as HashiCorp Vault
  • Progressive delivery, release orchestration, and modern deployment practices
